Rimmel 60 Seconds Super Shine Nail Polish by Rita Ora for Spring 2015

Rimmel 60 Seconds Super Shine Nail Polish Collection by Rita Ora Swatches and Review - hairnailsetc.blogspot.co.uk / instagram.com/amyforsythe

So Rimmel have once again collaborated with Rita Ora and released a second collection of nail polishes all inspired by summer days and fun festival fashion.

As you might have seen in my last post, Rimmel have recently updated their whole nail polish line and the previous capsule range from Rita Ora has now been integrated with the other core colours. This new collection of 12 shades for Spring 2015 features the same great formula as the core 60 Seconds Super Shine polishes and are prettily adorned with colour-coordinating flowers on the lid of the bottle. I picked out two which I'm showing you today but believe me it was tough narrowing them down!

Bestival Blue

2 coats, not top coat.
A beautiful creamy cornflower blue. The formula of this polish was brilliant; well pigmented with a good medium consistency and very easy to apply thanks to the perfectly wide brush. I absolutely adore this colour and I think it's quite flattering as well. It also dried fairly quickly (perhaps not 60 seconds but still quick) and the finish is shiny, although personally I'd still want to use a good top coat just for that extra glossy look.

Daisy Days

3 coats, no top coat.
Yes another yellow! I'm very consistent! This is a much paler, pastel yellow compared to Chin Up Buttercup and also has a tiny bit of hidden shimmer. If you've tried the original Rita Ora pastel polishes (Breakfast in Bed, Lose Your Lingerie etc...) you'll know what I mean. The shimmer is visible in the bottle if you look closely but on the nail it is so subtle you don't really notice it, it just looks like a creme. However it does give the polish a lovely sort of sheen and a softer finish. The formula is fairly thick but very easy to work with thanks to the wide curved brush. I've used three coats but you could probably get away with two, I'm a perfectionist and I thought the colour still looked a tiny bit patchy at two coats. I wouldn't say this was particularly fast drying, again I would recommend a quick-dry top coat to finish them off. Having said all that, the important thing is I love the colour - plus it's perfect for Easter!

The Rita Ora collection of nail polishes retail for £2.99 each, the same price as the standard Rimmel colours. I've said it before but I really appreciate the brush Rimmel have used in these polishes, it perfectly fits and covers my nail in one swipe, which means I can do a full manicure in seconds.

I'm definitely going back for more of these, the colours in this collection are really gorgeous, I've got my eye on Peachella, Roll in the Grass and Rain Rain Go Away.

    1. Thanks Pia! I think it's really pretty too, and it makes a nice change from the bold blues I usually go for xx
