It's been a very exciting week for me; starting my first 'proper' job, my first mani swap, and now my first indie polish swatches! This fun little collection is from Danglefoot Nail Polish and they're all handmade by Hayley at her home in Norfolk.
The Celebration Collection was created to mark the Danglefoot Nail Polish Instagram page reaching 1000 followers and it contains all my favourite things; pink, holos and neons!
Party Dress
2 coats, no top coat
A pink orchid-coloured polish with purple shimmer. I found the formula quite thick but very easy to apply. After two coats the colour was nice and vibrant, you can still just about see my nail line in this picture but that's due to the bright lights, in reality it looks fairly opaque. The finish was also really shiny which I liked. I don't normally go for shimmer polishes personally but this was so nice to use and flattering against my skin tone so I do think it looks good.
Glass of Fizz
2 coats, with top coat
Hayley described this colour as pink/mauve which is completely right, it's right in between pink and purple which I love. The best part is this polish is FULL of tiny holographic glitter. The glitter is very fine and subtle but when it catches the light it looks beautiful. I found it quite hard to capture in a photo so I've included a little gif which shows off the tiny rainbows! Again I found the formula to be fairly thick but easy to apply and two thin coats gave complete opacity. The finish was a little rough due to the glitter but a layer of top coat smoothed this out and helped bring out the shimmer.
Merry-Making
2 coats over white, with top coatI saved the best for last! This is a mix of matte neon pink, red, blue and green glitters, including hex shapes, squares and circles and all different sizes; all in a clear base. It is absolutely amazing! The polish was packed full of glitter pieces, no fishing required. One coat was more than enough but I went in for a second just to try and get all the different colours and shapes on there. I used one layer of glossy top coat for a completely smooth finish but it also looks really cool with a matte top coat. If I could design my own nail polish it would be exactly like this, it's so much fun and completely different from anything you can buy from the mainstream brands.
As I said, these are the first indie polishes I've swatched and I'm so impressed. The quality is excellent and the colours are all so different and exciting.
If you'd like to buy any of the polishes from the Celebration Collection you can visit the Danglefoot Nail Polish Etsy shop. The polishes are available in two sizes: 5ml is £3.10 and 12ml is £5.50 and they are all '5-free' and cruelty free. You can also keep up to date with Hayley and her new collections via Facebook and Instagram.
Thank you so much to Hayley for letting me swatch this special collection!
