Whether you're a nail art fanatic like me, or you've just done a google search for inspiration for your next salon visit, chances are you recognise this manicure. It's been everywhere!
Being a long-term Instagrammer (yes I know I'm quite the trendsetter!), I think I remember seeing the original version of this design a few years ago. It was posted by @selena.dee (formally @selenadee_nails) and it quickly started popping up everywhere; Facebook, Pinterest, Buzzfeed etc etc.
So, long story short, I thought it was about time I had a go at recreating this famous chevron-glitter-neon-pink combination. I made my own chevron nail decals by painting a small square of black nail polish on to release paper (the shiny paper that you peel off the back of a sticker) and leaving it to dry completely before cutting small strips using pinking shears. Then I painted the nail with white polish and, while it was still tacky, I carefully applied the chevron pieces.
Polishes Used
- Models Own - Bubblegum
- Rimmel - White Hot Love
- Topshop - unnamed black polish
- OPI - Your Royal Shine-ness (silver base colour under glitter)
- Models Own - Juicy Jules (silver glitter topper)
Aside from an unfortunate mistake with one of the chevron decals, I do like this manicure, I can't believe I didn't try it sooner. Also is it ok to start wearing neons again? It's supposed to be Spring right?!
