January isn't typically known as a good month for shopping, and after such a lovely Christmas with so many beautiful gifts I haven't felt the need to either. However if there's one thing that needs constant care and maintenance it's my hair...
Just to set the scene, I have fairly long (and fairly damaged), bleach blonde hair. Keeping it in a presentable condition is basically a full time job! So I'm forever searching for the perfect hair care products, and I clearly find a good offer hard to resist.

I'm sure you're all bored of hearing about Argan Oil by now, but it's become a firm staple in my hair care routine. I was a bit late to the Moroccan oil party, partly because I initially suspected it was a fad, but mainly due to the heavy price. The first one I tried was the Mark Hill MiracOILicious Argan Oil, it cost £9.99 - not cheap - but I loved it. When it eventually ran out, I decided to experiment and try something else, but alas the result did not compare. Needless to say, when I saw this gift set in the Christmas sale pile, which includes a full size (50ml) Argan Oil as well as a mini shampoo, conditioner and 'Intensive Treatment', for only £5 - half the price of the oil on it's own - it jumped straight in my basket.

Bleach London Bleach Bauble in Washed Up Mermaid
I've always been a fan of multicoloured hair, and I have dabbled in dip-dye in the past, but the potential for further damaging my hair tends to put me off. Unsurprisingly the Bleach range that popped up in my local Boots has been mighty tempting, and when I spotted this mini bottle of turquoise blue hair dye I thought- why not? How much harm can this little bottle do? Plus it came with a free furry scrunchie! Expect a further attempt at edgy-hipster home hair dye sometime soon...

I like my hair to be super light and ashy (conveniently the exact opposite of my natural colour!) so I'm used to using purple-toned shampoos to maintain the colour, usually I use the Lee Stafford one. However at my most recent trip to the hairdressers, I had it dyed grey à la Samantha Ravndahl and my hairdresser recommended this particular shampoo and conditioner to keep it silvery.
First Impression - This stuff is strong! It dyed my hands purple, but my hair looked awesome!
John Frieda Luxurious Volume Touchably Full for Colour-Treated Hair Shampoo £5.89
I know it's a #firstworldproblem, but deciding on your third item during a 3 for 2 offer can cause serious distress. Especially when all you need is shampoo and conditioner... items that come in pairs! Don't get me started! My logic in this instance was that using all these indulgent conditioning products could leave my hair a little weighted down, therefore a volumising shampoo might come in handy, and this one was around £5. I've used various John Frieda products in the past with mixed results, so we'll see how this one turns out.
